When I was younger I thought I could save people from their circumstances.
When I was 25 I met a gentleman we'll call Bob. Bob was going door to door selling things like Birthday cards, ornaments etc that he had shoplifted.
I asked my he did it and it was because he didn't have anywhere to live and didn't want to sleep on the street for another night.
So thinking I was doing the Christian thing, I let Bob initially sleep on the couch until I could get a bed for the spare room.
Unfortunately by the time I realized he was a violent drinker it was too late and I was attacked with a knife and had to call the police to evict him. I thought that would be the end of it, but then my family started getting pictures on their windshield with eyes burned out.
My grandparents house was burgled, and I suspect it was Bob.
So it goes to show, be careful with who you try to save. Some are not what they appear.
