I was talking to my friend who was a soldier during the first Iraq War. He won't mind me sharing the story as I think its an amazing source of inspiration. My friend, we will call him David. Was a tank commander, so he was in charge of the vehicle and its crew. There was the driver, the gunner and David all confined into this small metal shell.
One day while out on patrol the tank he was in was attacked and triggered an anti-tank mine. It tore the heck out of the tank like it was a tin of beans. Everyone but Dave was killed. David lost his legs and part of his arm.
So, he was shipped home to England to recover and didnt get much help after he got home. He lost his girlfriend, and ended up in a one bedroom studio (atleast he wasnt homeless right). So I asked David, do you still believe in God, after he took all this away from you?
Without missing a beat, Dave said "it wasnt God that did this to me, it was just a man. Another soldier following his orders, like I was following mine."
